Project Designer - Workplace

FOX Architects is growing and making waves within the design community. Our award winning firm is seeking experienced PROJECT DESIGNER to join the Interiors Studio located in Washington DC. The primary responsibilities of the Project Designer is for project leadership; oversight performance of assigned studio projects; provide exceptional high end workplace design and have an understanding of project budgets. This position will perform in conjunction with project managers, principals, and interior designers to engage with our clients and promote superior design excellence.

This position is located in downtown DC, walking distance from Foggy Bottom (blue/orange/silver) and Dupont Circle (red) metro stations.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to provide creative abstract ideas and make it into a reality for clients.
  • A proven leader in the thought process of creative design concepts within teams.
  • Passion in sharing design concepts, visualizations and presentations.
  • Maintain and build positive client relationships within the industry.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and systems appropriate to the firm’s work.
  • Possesses strong organizational and time management techniques.
  • Provide exceptional design and technical input on all project stages.
  • Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks concurrently and efficiently.
  • Give the "Wow!" factor in presentation and interpersonal skills with any audience.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines without compromising the design/technical intent or relationship with fellow workers.

 

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Graduated with a Bachelor or Masters in Architecture/Interior Architecture/Interior Design from an accredited institution.
  • 4 to 8 years of progressive professional design studio experience with an emphasis on corporate workplace projects.
  • NCIDQ registration and LEED certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and systems appropriate to the firm’s work.
  • Must be proficient in REVIT, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suites.
  • Knowledge of current laws, codes and titles in relation to construction.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines without compromising the design/technical intent or relationship with fellow workers.
